In 2017, Shrouded Isle publisher Kitfox Games announced Boyfriend Dungeon, a dungeon crawler that allows players to “wine and dine” their weapons. Now they’ve got a brand new gameplay trailer to fuel the fire for the love of loot and romance. Check it out:

Set in the sunny city of Verona Beach, Boyfriend Dungeon is a dating simulator and dungeon crawler in one. Why sacrifice hot romance or action-packed gameplay when you can have both? During downtime between “plunder the dunj,” woo your weapons with gifts, make small talk, and slash your way through monsters.

There are 7 different types of weapons players can choose from, which caters to various combat styles to switch things up. From an estoc, lasersaber, dagger, a glaive, talwar, and more – gain loot in more ways than one. Level up skills to ease the difficulty of combat too! Will this be cringy to some? Sure! Will it be full of entertaining shenanigans, plentiful loot, and gorgeous characters? One hundred percent! Let’s be real right now, some people definitely and unironically enjoyed games like Hatoful Boyfriend, Purrfect Date, and Super Seducer. There’s nothing wrong with that! Well, except for Super Seducer. Big yikes.
