Black Panther DLC Character Teased For Injustice 2, Boon Continues To Be Evil

Black Panther DLC Character Injustice 2

Injustice 2 has one of the most inclusive character rosters around, not only featuring an amazing selection of DC characters, but also a fun bunch of unique cameo fighters. The likes of Hellboy, Mortal Kombat‘s Sub-Zero, and most recently, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have opened up the floor for anyone to join the fray, seemingly even a Black Panther DLC character. Wait, what?

In a poll on Twitter, Injustice 2 creative director Ed Boon recently asked the gaming public about the Marvel character Black Panther, and whether he’d be a good fit in the superhero fighting game. From the get-go it’s apparent that Boon is playing on fans hopes for a good ol’ troll. This was likely given away by the poll’s answers, which ranged from the natural choice of “Yes”, to raising legitamate concerns about Marvel rights, to a call for Boon to forever end his trolling ways. Check it out below.

While often times these polls function as a joke, a few past occasions have actually been to gauge player interest in potential fighters. Hellboy was teased in this way before his eventual release, as was Sub-Zero. But then again, it was only last month when Boon also hinted at the addition of the mystery-solving dog Scooby-Doo. Hmm….

In any case, a Black Panther DLC character would be huge for Injustice 2 as it would mean truly anyone could join the superhero fight. Or, perhaps the king of Wakanda has missed his chance, because as it stands, there hasn’t been any news of further characters being introduced for the game. It sure wouldn’t be impossible given how hugely successful the game has become, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

In the meantime, we have the pizza-chomping Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to look forward to. The shell-shockers are currently out now for those that pre-ordered Fighter Pack 3 or own the Ultimate Edition of the game. The Turtles join the fighting game roster for everyone else on February 20th. Injustice 2 is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

What do you think? Are you hopeful that Ed Boon isn’t joking about a Black Panther DLC Character in Injustice 2, or should people just let it go because it was obviously a troll? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to follow Don’t Feed the Gamers on Twitter to be informed of the latest gaming and entertainment news 24 hours a day!
