Bethesda Opens Up New Studio With Former Original Prey Devs

Bethesda

Human Head Studios created the likes of both the Prey and Rune franchises, enticing fans with these unique titles over the years. The team recently released Rune II though, despite this, the studio has seemingly shut down. Though it’s sad to see the studio close its doors there is a silver lining. Bethesda has scooped up the remnants of the studio, opening the door for a whole slew of new possibilities.

A press release has arrived detailing the opening of Roundhouse Studios. Chris Rhinehart, the now Creative Director of Roundhouse, explained in a recent press release that while it is sad to see the old studio close down, the team has been given a second chance thanks to Bethesda.

Sadly, we had to wind down the business of Human Head Studios and close its doors, which was particularly devastating due to the passion and creativity of the team we’d assembled. We reached out to our friends at Bethesda for help, and they saw that same creativity and passion in our team. With the formation of Roundhouse Studios, Bethesda offered every employee of Human Head a position at the new company. We are excited our team will remain together, pursuing the work we love, as part of a company we already know and admire.”

Bethesda also chimed in, expressing their delight in being able to bring the talented crew of what used to be Human Head under their wings. Alongside the creation of Roundhouse, the companies hope to start off with a bang, crafting a new yet to be announced title.

There’s no word on what the mystery title coming out of Roundhouse will be but perhaps some more news will find its way to the public soon. Could a sequel to one of Human Head’s former titles like their take on the Prey franchise be on the way or will it be something entirely new?
