Battlefield V Cover Art Revealed, Pretty Much Confirms World War II

Tomorrow, Electronic Arts and DICE studios will present a live reveal for the Battlefield community, and unveil the murmurs about the latest entry in the franchise. Battlefield V has been rumored for a World War II setting for some time now, but the recent leaks and hints have essentially confirmed this notion. There isn’t official substantiation to back up this claim yet, however, the cover art for the upcoming first-person shooter was revealed and community members have it pinned down.

Seen in the image below, Reddit users have taken a guess as to which side this particular character is on and exactly which weapons are in his hands. If he’s truly wielding an M1 Carbine and M1911 and the overall look of the character indicates a timeframe, most on the forum have pinpointed World War II indefinitely. See for yourself:

This coincides with a video revealed by DICE the other day as additional information for this debate, which honestly isn’t a debate anymore at this point. In the short clip, you can hear a man’s muffled screams and another staring at the “camera” making a shushing motion to quiet him. The most compelling piece of evidence seen in the video isn’t so much the act itself, rather it’s the user interface. Seen at the top of the video are symbols of flags of opposing teams – one representing Union Jack of the United Kingdom and the other the German Balkenkreuz.

The Battlefield V live reveal takes place Wednesday, May 23rd at 1 PM PST / 4 PM EST / 10 PM CET. Check it out on their YouTube channel once it goes live!
