DICE Releases New Battlefield 1 Monthly Updates and DLC Concept Art

Battlefield 1 Monthly Updates

DICE is bringing the future of their latest shooter to light with a recent blog post; “The Road Ahead for Battlefield 1“. Though short, the post gives fans some insight into what the developer’s plans are moving forward. Plenty of new things are coming to the game including Battlefield 1 monthly updates.

Battlefield 1 monthly updates is a relatively new concept for the franchise, with previous installments typically updating seasonally. Instead of expecting four major updates a year, players can look forward to 12 updates annually. This means that DICE is planning a great deal for their players:

“Considering all we have in store for Battlefield 1, we’ve decided to move to monthly updates. With this new tempo, we’re going to bring you more of what you want, faster than ever.”

The major spring update is adding Platoons to Battlefield 1. Though details are lacking we do know that this will allow you to form units with your friends. Next month will also mark an update set to make the game as frictionless as DICE can. The changes should make fans particularly happy:

“This includes streamlining the flow into matches (especially Operations) and improving many gameplay grievances that will hopefully make the action feel more balanced and fair. The development team is also working on a feature update to the Battlefield 1 Rent-a-Server Program which we hope to release soon.”

Aside from Battlefield 1 monthly updates and coming features, DICE also discussed their three upcoming expansions. Most specifically a DLC titled “In The Name Of The Tsar”. All of the new DLCs are bringing in new maps, weapons, vehicles, and modes. In The Name Of The Tsar will be bringing players to the icy grip of the Eastern Front alongside the Russian Army. Concept art in the gallery above details some of what players can expect moving forward.
