Creative Assembly Confirms New Historical Title Still on the Way + Warhammer Expansions

Creative Assembly

The game developers at Creative Assembly have a lot on their plates right now, as they work hard on the latest Total War and Total War: Warhammer titles for their fans. In a recent statement by Michael Whelan, the latest expansions and a brand new historical major release are currently in the works, while developers continue to address questions and concerns that fans may have on the future of Total War:

Production for our next historical major release is well underway, as mentioned before, with the team working on all areas of the game at this stage; the game design is locked and asset creation fully underway. We have seen some particularly jaw-dropping character and campaign map concepts that have really pushed the strong visual design of this release.

Whelan also went on to hint at the future of the Total War franchise, alluding that Creative Assembly will be bringing a whole new era of historical content to their fans:

We have also been collaborating with our first historical advisor, pre-eminent in his field and already bringing that world-leading expertise to bear on our designs and extensive research so far – don’t forget, it’s an era that we haven’t tackled yet, so we want to make sure we get it right.

Creative Assembly has already hinted that a new, historical Total War was on the way, along with additional DLC for existing historical titles. With confirmation from Whelan that a new game is currently in the works, and additional content is coming for existing titles (the team members of Rome II and Attila are currently working on those opportunities), the wait is on as developers prepare their latest update for fans, readying to release their next big hit. In the interim between historical Total War updates, developers have released a brand new cinematic trailer for Total War: Warhammer 2, which can be seen here.
