Halo Invades Arma III With This Mod (VIDEO)
Arma III has been around for a while, long enough to wonder when developers will come out with a new title. It’s tactical and hardcore but also allows for the use of mods, giving players the ability to enhance their experience any way they see fit. A recently released mod gives players the chance to take on the Halo universe.
Titled “Operation Trebuchet,” the mod completely reskins the game to a Halo theme right down to the UI, weapons, vehicles, and more. The mod takes place before the events of the Human-Covenant War, set during the time of the insurrections in the Outer Colonies. The idea behind the mod is to drop players into the shoes of a grunt within the Halo universe rather than in the role of Spartans.
The mod is being developed under Microsoft’s “Game Content Usage Rules” meaning that as long as the developers don’t attempt to monetize Operation Trebuchet, it’ll be safe from being shut down. Both Operation Trebuchet and First Contact are currently in Alpha and are available to download on Steam, however the developers of the mod have expressed that they will be focusing on the former as First Contact is more or less fan-service.
Arma III is a PC only title and for good reason, sporting a plethora of commands necessary to be effective in play that can’t really be placed into current generation controllers. It might not be the next full-on Halo title, but at the very least it’s enough to keep fans company until Halo Infinite finally arrives.
