While there is plenty going on in the world, the big event occupying the collective attention of the United States right now is the 2020 Presidential election. With so many important policies at stake, early voting and mail-in ballots are already seeing record numbers ahead of Election Day next month. Many big names in politics have used gaming as a way to bring attention to important issues, with one recent figure being New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

AOC has appeared on live-streams supporting trans rights, appealed to Blizzard to reverse their ban on Blitzchung, but now she will be hosting her own Among Us livestream tonight to encourage people to vote in the 2020 election. New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted yesterday through her official Twitter account expressing interest in live-streaming the popular new game Among Us.

The hit PC/mobile game has enamored gamers of all types and has become a meme farm on social media, so naturally, it caught the attention of AOC. The representative is no stranger to games, as she famously has reached Silver III level in League of Legends, and has appeared on gaming-related live-streams on other channels. However, this interest in using Among Us to encourage voter engagement, AOC has now created her official Twitch channel and prepared her tech setup to stream Among Us sometime tonight (October 20th).

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez received many responses to her request for players to join her Among Us livestream and become potential impostors in Among Us. Amid the big names that responded include pro wrestler Xavier Woods, actress Felicia Day and streamer DrLupo. AOC even responded to requests from streamer Pokimane and fellow US representative and The Squad member Ilhan Omar, so these two seem very likely to have received direct invitations.

AOC has not announced a time yet for the livestream tonight, but her Twitch channel is active and has even been shared by Senator Bernie Sanders. Hopefully, the stream convinces many undecided voters to get out and exercise their civic duties. Orange is pretty sus, after all.
