Battlefield V Devs Promise Their Battle Royale Mode Won’t Take Away From Multiplayer Focus
Now that it looks like Battlefield V’s battle royale mode, Firestorm, is on the way here soon, many fans were worried that the team might pull away from supporting the standard multiplayer experience in favor of the new PVP option. Thankfully, EA DICE has no intention of making Battlefield V’s Firestorm the main focus and promises to still pay special attention to what the game is known for.
EA DICE recently posted a Tweet concerning the game’s upcoming battle royale mode. Aside from the tease of new information on the way and a small clip featuring a squad surrounded by fire and a snazzy looking beard, there wasn’t much to be gleaned from the post.
Because you've seen absolutely nothing about Firestorm lately 👀 https://t.co/SjONXlxvir

Where the assurance came from was actually from a response to a tweet from a fan with concerns that the upcoming battle royale mode would shift the focus away from the game’s traditional multiplayer experience. A reply from the official EA DICE account assures fans that the Battlefield franchise will continue to focus primarily on their multiplayer experience, with Battlefield V’s battle royale mode being simply an additional experience playerse can enjoy.
We are Battlefield first, Royale is an addition to the Battlefield experience. As we move forward, Multiplayer remains our core focus.

There hasn’t been any word on when DICE plans on releasing the Firestorm game mode, however with Respawn Entertainment’s surprise launch of the incredibly popular Apex Legends it will have some work to do in order to compete with the title.
