Following a relatively quiet December, EA DICE plans to add plenty of new content to Star Wars Battlefront II. Count Dooku will soon join Obi-Wan Kenobi, General Grievous, and the other heroes and villains in the game. Today, the company provided a release date for the Sith Lord, as well as the first new events for 2019.

In a Community Transmission, EA DICE posted the January schedule for Star Wars Battlefront II. For the first time in the game’s history, players can earn triple experience points for classes and characters. The first event kicks off January 4 with triple XP for Heroes and Villains and Hero Showdown and runs through January 6.

The next two weekends will also provide experience boosts, but for different classes. January 11 through 13 marks XP for troopers in Blast and Strike modes. After that, players can jump into my beloved Star Fighter Assault and Hero Starfighter to level up those ships. That event runs January 18 through 20.

All three events lead up to the Darth Tyranus Update. On January 23, Count Dooku will be available for purchase for credits, the in-game currency. Players will also be able to acquire an alternate skin known as the Dark Ritual appearance. EA DICE has yet to reveal the look, but some fans believe it will be this outfit from The Clone Wars. Additionally, the Coruscant Guard Clone Trooper skin will also be made available.

Lastly, the game will feature Battle Point Event from January 25 through January 27. Heroes and villains will see their Battle Point cost reduced by 50% in Galactic Assault. This will only apply to era-specific characters, however, as non-era heroes will be locked out. Based on the post’s comments, fans seem relieved at this development. Some previously complained about the chaos caused by the Heroes Unleashed events. This should make Galactic Assault battles feel more balanced and are definitely more faithful to the franchise.

While fans remained subdued for Count Dooku at his E3 announcement, he figures to be a unique and impressive villain. Anticipation for the fallen Jedi grew after EA DICE revealed Corey Burton, who voiced Dooku in The Clone Wars, resumed the role for Star Wars Battlefront II. As we move closer to the update, EA DICE promises to reveal more details on the Sith’s looks and abilities. We will be sure to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
