Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fan’s Piranha Plant DLC Dream Came True
If you told me a few days ago that I’d be writing about somebody dreaming about plants, I’d’ve laughed at you, but here we are and the show, as always, must go on. Yesterday during the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct Presentation, the Big N revealed the identity of its first post-launch fighter: Piranha Plant. While most fans of Nintendo’s long running brawler series only learned about the DLC yesterday, one fan actually dreamed about playing as the Piranha Plant in February of this year. Creepy, right?
The fan – who goes by @dyla_bell-sky on Twitter – recently revisited their post from earlier this year once yesterday’s Nintendo Direct presentation concluded, confirming once again that they had the foresight to dream about the Piranha Plant more than 6 months prior to the reveal. Check out the original tweet below:
I had a weird dream that I was at a smash tournament and none of the setups had DLC characters, but a piranha plant was a playable character so I played as him instead lol pic.twitter.com/I4SHkpSQln

“I had a weird dream that I was at a smash tournament and none of the setups had DLC characters, “the tweet begins, “but a piranha plant was a playable character so I played as him instead lol.” Is this a complete coincidence? Well yeah, of course it is, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t awesome to hear about, unless you happen to be a perpetually disgruntled Waluigi fan.
For those that didn’t catch the news, the Piranha Plant DLC is still in development and is expected to release around February 2019. Those that want to obtain the fighter for free need only purchase Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at any point between 11/1/2018 and 1/31/2019. Purchasing the leafy fighter once it releases will likely cost $5.99, the same as the other announced single DLC packs.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on December 7, 2018.
