New Dragon Age Comic Announced
Since it first began in 2009, the Dragon Age franchise has spanned over several different mediums including video games, novels, and comics. Now, BioWare and Dark Horse Comics team up once again to bring fans another iteration of Dragon Age, offering a brand new comic adventure that features a particularly sneaky con artist.
From the same team that created Knight Errant, this new series will make its primary debut in October and the new adventure will take place in Tevinter. Simply titled, Dragon Age: Deception, Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir make their reprisal as writers, while Sachin Teng and Michael Atiyeh return as cover artist and colorist respectively. Deception follows the story of alluring con artist, Olivia Pryde. After unsuccessful attempts of making life as an actress, she turns to criminal endeavors for a taste of success. Pryde marks the head of a wealthy family, Calix Quintara, but she soon finds out that these plans won’t bode well. Calix is unlike the impression she painted of him, but she’s intertwined herself into his life all too well to simply walk away. With a life built on knots of lies and treachery, how will Pryde absolve herself? Most important of all – can she?
Based on the information provided by Dark Horse, it’s easily surmised that we’ll follow the inner turmoil of Olivia Pryde as she becomes well-acquainted with Calix Quintara. Does that imply romance or a complicated familial relationship? Perhaps it’s a much more sophisticated problem than we can imagine.
Dragon Age: Deception hits shelves on October 10th, 2018. Pre-orders are available now via comic book retailers. Since this series takes place in Tevinter, what nods do you hope to see?
