Report: Valve Could Be Working on Gorgeous Fantasy Adventure Game
New images have appeared on artist Drew Wolf’s personal website which have drawn the eye of curious fans. The images portray that of a fantasy adventure game centered around cooperative combat and driven by a narrative. Wolf has spent the last 8 years at Valve and much of the work added to his updated website are from his time there such as his work on DOTA 2 and Team Fortress. He’s also included some work from an untitled “internal R&D project” which has led many fans to believe that it too was a Valve project.
The art itself features mood sketches of various characters players would possibly use in the co-op adventure, where they came from as well what they’re personalities might be or what they might do. The cast features various archetypes of characters including bards, mages, warriors, and more all featuring different backgrounds. The goal was to present a wide range of characters players could play in four man groups, however they were later paired down to the 10 characters which are seen above. Also drawn up are creatures that players might face including demons, goblins, spectre-like beings and more. Check out more of Wolf’s work on his personal website for more concept art from his time at Valve and this untitled fantasy adventure game.
