Battlefront 2 Trailer Leak Highlights Epic In-Engine Space Battles

Electronic Arts and DICE are undoubtedly getting prepared for this year’s Gamescom, where the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is expected to be shown off. The much-hyped footage is said to contain a gleeful amount of high-intensity space combat and feature quite a few recognizable ships from the saga’s warring Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire. It seems we may have received our dose of epic ship battles a little early, as a recent Battlefront 2 trailer leak has revealed some brand new in-engine action.

A majority of the short 30-second ad plays up the game’s deep-space dogfights, but also features a number of familiar planetside locations, such as the aquatic world of Kamino from Episode II: Attack of the Clones. In one memorable moment, everyone’s “little green friend” Master Yoda can be seen piloting his own spacecraft, throwing all fear to the wind in the fight against the Empire. Check it out in the video below.

While not much can be absorbed from the Battlefront 2 trailer leak, especially since the in-engine footage contains no gameplay, gamers can rest a teensy easier knowing a full-length version is waiting around the corner at Gamescom next week. Anticipation for the new Star Wars title is extremely high, with developers seemingly pulling out the necessary stops to create a truly great game. All of the spectacular space battles are being headed up by Burnout developer Criterion, while the single-player story campaign has Motive behind the scenes.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is set to release on November 17 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Before then, an open beta is scheduled for early October, so be on the lookout for that and much more incoming news from Dont Feed the Gamers.
