Conan Exiles to Receive First Expansion ‘Frozen North’ Synonymous With Xbox One Release (VIDEO)

Conan Exiles Frozen North

Funcom’s survival RPG Conan Exiles is getting ready to become available for Xbox One players. The title is still in Early Access on PC, and will be joining the Xbox Marketplace via the Games Preview Program. Both PC and Xbox One versions will be getting a free expansion (no, not an endowment expansion) titled The Frozen North.

The Frozen North is what Funcom is referring to as “Phase 2” of Conan Exiles. According to Creative Director Joel Bylos, Phase 2 will be “bigger and better” as the company took the the feedback of the game’s core community to influence the changes. The new expansion adds a slew of new features, as well as some major improvements on features already contained within the title. You can see what’s in store for Conan Exiles in the video below:

Changes to the loot system, combat, and survival components are just a few things players can look forward to with the Frozen North expansion. Bylos claims that the game has been given a full overhaul, and commends the Exiles in a statement:

“I am very proud of the team and the work they have done so far in Early Access. They have really been working their arses off fixing bugs, squashing exploits, improving core features, and they have also added entire new features and content such as siege warfare, climbing, dungeons, and much more. They have also built this entire expansion update which makes the game bigger and more chock full of features than ever before. We’re certainly not done and we still have a long way to go until full launch, but we are very proud of what Conan Exiles is today and we are very grateful for all the support, feedback, and input we have received from our community thus far.”

Conan Exiles is available on PC now and arrives on Xbox One consoles on August 16 for $35. Once the Xbox One X releases, there will be an update to support the super-console’s 4K capabilities. Once the full version is completed, the developers have plans to release it on PlayStation4 as well.
