Despite being in theaters for nearly a month already, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is still performing well at the weekend box office to confirm a third film in the franchise, and references to the film are still present among internet culture conversations today. Slightly less in the public consciousness, but still known online is the recent release of the Friday the 13th game which has sadly mostly been known for its significant technical issues facing players. However, one fan of both of these properties has found a way to cross these two franchises over by recreating the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 opening in Friday the 13th. Check it out below:

YouTube user Stephen Romanchik has uploaded the video seen above to his YouTube channel. The video mostly uses the animations of Jason brutally killing the teenage characters when he successfully lowers any of the players’ health down to zero. This contrast to the accompanied Mr. Blue Sky track by the Electronic Light Orchestra certainly matches the song’s use in the opening sequence of Guardians of the Galaxy 2, as the Guardians fought a large interdimensional monster while Baby Groot danced in the foreground to the classic tune. This video also shows off the various Jason skins available in the game, such as the standard hockey mask Jason, the burlap sack look from the 2nd Jason film and a new flaming design created by Tom Savini specifically for the game.

Many users of Friday the 13th: The Game are still experiencing heavy issues, such as trouble finding matches, but it is still good to see the fan community embracing the game in such a creative way as this.
