Marvel Heroes Omega is Coming to the PS4 – Check Out Star-Lord Taunting Loki! (VIDEO)
Developer Gazillion Entertainment has just announced Marvel Heroes Omega, a followup to their 2013 PC RPG Marvel Heroes. The Action-RPG MMO is slated for release this Spring on the PlayStation 4 with a closed beta coming soon. The trailer, which can be seen below, features Guardians of the Galaxy alum Peter Quill, AKA Star-Lord, giving Loki more sass (and dance moves) than Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man could ever dream of.
For those of us that are anxiously waiting for the Infinity War movies for what will most likely be some amazing character interactions, Marvel Heroes Omega appears to be the closest we are going to get until the first movie hits theaters next year. According to Gazillion Entertainment’s Community Manager David Lee, the game has “one of the largest rosters of playable Heroes that pulls from all corners of the Marvel Universe.” Players can also recruit other gamers playing Omega in the many Headquarter areas within the game to tackle more challenging content. According to Lee, the story campaign is split up into nine chapters with players squaring off against several Marvel Super Villains, including Doctor Doom and Loki. Well, that’s assuming the latter survives his dance-off with Star-Lord.
“Play as Spider-Man, the Avengers, the Defenders, the Inhumans, the X-Men, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and so many more!”
Though it is currently unknown whether or not Marvel Heroes Omega is a direct sequel to Marvel Heroes, we do know that Omega will be free-to-play, just like the original. That said, one of David Lee’s replies to one of the comments on the announcement post suggests that Omega is simply a polished PS4 version. Lee has also weighed in on game progress and crossover micro-transactions.
“The PlayStation 4 version and PC version are different from one another so progress and purchases can’t be carried over. What the exact differences are will be provided at a later date.”
