Marketing Director Addresses Destiny II Title Rumors with 3 Simple Words

According to a few websites, someone anonymous claimed to have information from an inside source that Destiny II would be called Forge of Hope. The anonymous leak was posted to Reddit and also stated that it will use a brand new engine, as well as launch on PC along with the current-gen consoles. Bungie’s Marketing Director and Writer was quick to shoot down the claims of Destiny II being called Forge of Hope. Eric Osborne tweeted just three simple words to get the point across…

Bungie has said that they plan to release Destiny II before 2017 is over, but not much other information has been given. Another of the mysterious claims was that the actual release date would be between November 4th and 18th, and as for the other claims of a new engine and multiple platform release, we’ll just have to see. According to the leak, they still have an exclusivity agreement with PlayStation, but it has now been reduced from a year to 3 months. The leak also said that there will be 3 versions of the game: the normal version, special edition featuring special in-game cosmetic items, and an even better special edition that comes with the cosmetic items AND a scale model of the Exo Stranger’s Relic of Necessity. They say all versions of Destiny II will come with a pre-order bonus.

Another claim was that Bungie plans to have events similar to Overwatch and steady additions of new content. They even went as far as to drop hints about the story-line saying Destiny II will be the events following The Taken King.
“The cabal forces attack the city leaving the civilians and mentors of the tower defenseless. It is the guardians job to fight back the cabal and reclaim the city. While doing so the guardian will discover the long lost stories of Queen Mara Sov and The Exo Strangers motives. The story will culminate with the tower and city fighting back the Cabal empire resulting the guardian defeating the leader of the Cabal in the new Raid.”
We now know that one of the claims was false, which likely means the rest are too, only time will tell. Hey, maybe they get lucky and some of the claims will come true!
