Nick Offerman Added To The Last Of Us HBO Series Cast
Adapting classic video game franchises for major streaming services has become the big new strategy for enticing large audiences to their platforms. A live-action Halo series is coming to Paramount Plus next year, and a Fallout series is in the works as well at Amazon for Prime Video. Perhaps the biggest of these is The Last of Us live-action series for HBO, which has cost millions of dollars per episode of production. With big name talent like Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, one can understand the cost, but now the production adds another big name to The Last of Us cast list: none other than Nick Offerman.
The Guardian recently shared an interview that they conducted with Murray Bartlett, who most recently appeared in The White Lotus series for HBO. Bartlett had been confirmed to play Frank, who supposedly would live in the same isolated town as Bill, played by Con O’Neill. However, it seems that Bartlett is also acting opposite another actor for much of his scenes. As he states about his experience:
It’s an epic show, but beautifully human and intimate. We filmed it in Calgary. A lot of my scenes are with Nick Offerman. Playing off him was awesome.”
Apparently, the man behind the iconic role of Ron Swanson from NBC’s Parks and Recreation will be joining the series in some capacity. HBO had not yet announced that Nick Offerman would be involved with the show, so this would more or less confirm his involvement. It is not yet known what character then Offerman will be playing, but it very well could be a new role for the series. Hopefully more details or an image are released soon so we can know if Offerman’s glorious mustache-growing capabilities will be seen in the series. The infected are powerful, but mustaches are even more powerful.
