New Returnal Gameplay Trailer Revealed (VIDEO)
Housemarque officially announced Returnal last year when the PlayStation 5 was revealed, showing off a sci-fi adventure with a bit of a spin on it. Of course, it wasn’t too long ago that the project was delayed, but not by long. That said, the developers have now released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming game, and it highlights some of the enemies that players will be encountering on the adventure.
During the recent State of Play, the developers at Housemarque were kind enough to bring a new gameplay trailer for Returnal. In the video seen below, we can see what it’s going to be like going up against a few of the big baddies, especially when they all happen to be in the same place. The gameplay itself is quick-paced and takes inspiration from roguelikes, as is mentioned by Housemarque’s Mikael Haveri on the PlayStation Blog.
“As a fresher component to a Housemarque game, the State of Play also touches upon the ways we create a tangible atmosphere, where you’ll piece together the story’s mysteries,” Haveri said. “We recently shared a bit more about the world of Returnal in our “Atropos” video. Narrative is a big part of the Returnal experience, though we’re telling that story in some subtle ways: You’ll encounter voice logs and glimpses of different realities on your journey, without distracting you from the bullet hell action of the main game.”
Returnal is currently in development and expected to launch on April 30th for PlayStation 5. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
