Resident Evil: The Final Chapter Directer Says Star’s Pregnancy Improved the Movie

Resident Evil The Final Chapter Header

Resident Evil is a massive franchise, including a whopping 24 games, and soon to be six movies. The movies have had their hit and miss moments, but for the most part have been rather successful. They’ve fought to keep going and have earned that right. Resident Evil is one of the most successful video game movie franchises to date, having earned billions of dollars worldwide. According to the Resident Evil’s final chapter director Paul W.S. Anderson, the new installment will be the best movie yet.

In an interview with Collider, Anderson talks about how he managed to make six films, why he shot in 2D using a 3D team crew, how he listens to fans for inspiration, and much more. Anderson also explained that delaying the movie for 9 months while the series star, Milla Jovovich, was pregnant benefited the film because it gave him extra time to refine his vision for it.

For me, this is the best movie in the franchise. And I think it’s certainly on par with the first film, which I feel was always the best in the franchise. There would be no franchise if it wasn’t for the first film.”

In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between regaining her superhuman abilities at Wesker’s hand and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.”
