Stronghold: Warlords Is Letting Fans Scream Their Way Into The Game (VIDEO)
With many people stuck inside due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s sure to be some who are stressed out, anxious to get back to work, or much more. The situation that the world is currently facing is enough to make people scream. Firefly Studios is now preparing to give an outlet to do just that, letting fans vocalize all those pent up frustrations with screams that may even be used in their upcoming RTS title Stronghold: Warlords.
In a recent Stronghold: Warlords video, Composer and Sound Designer Robert Euvino proposed a friendly competition where fans can try to get their voice – or rather their screams – put into the game. He explained that sound design normally records voice work for grunts, squeals, and cries of pain within a studio, but COVID-19 has made such a task a bit more difficult. Thanks to the quarantine, voice actors have taken to setting up makeshift studios within their own homes, but work has been predictably limited. With this in mind, Euvino explained his idea to include fans in the process, asking them to submit their voices for Stronghold: Warlords in exchange for the possibility to be heard in the game upon release.
Fans interested in joining in on the competition can do so by joining the Official Discord for Stronghold: Warlords, where they’ll find all the information they need to get themselves heard. Euvino explained that better quality mics and vocal performances might determine who gets selected or not, so those with higher-tier gear will have an advantage. However, that shouldn’t dissuade fans from joining in on all the screaming fun.
Stronghold: Warlords is expected to arrive later this year for PC though at the moment a definitive release date has not been set. Will you be submitting your screams to the developers? How strange do you think it would be to hear your voice within a video game? Let us know your thoughts on Stronghold: Warlords and more in the comments section below.
