Square Enix Expands Stay Home & Play Initiative With New JRPG Bundle

Square Enix Dragon Quest XI

Since most folks are still stuck at home due to the ongoing pandemic, Square Enix is committed to bringing the fun to us via its Stay At Home initiative, which kicked off late last month with two free Tomb Raider games. Now, the Japanese publisher has announced that it has expanded its new initiative with a brand new JRPG bundle of games, now available at a significant discount.

Square Enix recently took to Twitter to reveal the details of its new JRPG bundle. Now available via Steam, the bundle includes Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Oninaki, and Chrono Trigger. All games in the bundle are sold at a 50% discount, which amounts to an impressive savings. Here’s the tweet below, followed by a description of each game:

  • DRAGON QUEST XI: ECHOES OF AN ELUSIVE AGE: The most recent mainline entry in the revered DRAGON QUEST series is critically-acclaimed, with multiple awards to its name. It’s a completely standalone experience with amazing characters, a beautiful world, and satisfyingly tactical combat.
  • FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE: From an Elusive Age, to a Zodiac one. This classic RPG features remastered HD visuals, new gameplay features and more. It’s set in the world of Ivalice, where the small country of Dalmasca has been conquered by the invading Archadian Empire. Amid the occupation, a ragtag group comes together for an unforgettable journey.
  • CHRONO TRIGGER: This timeless JRPG may not have any ‘Ages’ in the title, but it definitely spans them! Developed by the ‘Dream Team’ of DRAGON QUEST creator Yuji Horii, Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, and the creators of FINAL FANTASY, this epic story takes you across multiple eras, from medieval times to the far-flung future.
  • ONINAKI: This vividly colorful action RPG tells a compelling tale of life and loss. With fast-paced, free-flowing real time battles, and a unique Daemon-based battle system that lets you switch between weapons and abilities on the fly, it’s a fantastic game that’s as thrilling as it is thought-provoking.
