Marvel’s Avengers Full ‘A-Day’ Gameplay Footage Revealed (VIDEO)
This past E3 saw Square Enix finally reveal their epic-scale comic book team-up Marvel’s Avengers, the ensuing showcase depicting an exciting look at the MCU-inspired title ahead of its anticipated release next year. Thought there’s been numerous details revealed in the months since, the gameplay demo shown off at the event hasn’t been available for the viewing public–that is, until today.
Revealed in a new video on YouTube, the full extent of the previously shown “A-Day” trailer shows numerous pieces of extended gameplay, following the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as they stop a catastrophe in the midst of San Francisco. Referred to as a “tutorial level” in the video’s description, the footage introducing players to the combat-heavy exploits of several Avengers, including Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, and Captain America. Lightning strikes, repulsor blasts, ground pounds, shield throws, and spy tech make our heroes quite the team in Marvel’s Avengers. In this tutorial level, the Avengers must defend San Francisco after a mysterious attack threatens the safety of the city.”
Based on this new gameplay, there looks to be a stunning focus on story and character for Marvel’s Avengers, though much about the game’s content continues to be unknown. Nonetheless, an abundance of add-on content has been confirmed following the game’s launch, including the addition of new locations and characters–which may or may not include Hawkeye when taking account of previous teases.
Marvel’s Avengers releases for Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 15, 2020.
