Zombieland: Double Tapper RPG Officially Announced
Zombies have become ubiquitous in popular culture in the 21st century, be it from The Walking Dead television and comic series or the Left 4 Dead video games. One piece of zombie entertainment that got in on the craze early was Zombieland, a cult favorite film that left fans desperate for a sequel. Well, after nearly a decade of waiting, Zombieland 2 was finally announced last year. Sony Pictures Entertainment and Tilting Point have announced the new game on the official Zombieland Double Tapper Twitter account. The game will see players controlling a variety of heroes, including those from the first film, as they take a road trip throughout the country, struggling to survive the undead wastelands. The game will utilize an RPG system that pits the player against a variety of zombie enemies.
Tilting Point is excited to be developing the new mobile game. As their President Samir El-Agili states: “We’re thrilled at the opportunity to display our skills and dedication in co-developing a title with such a beloved franchise. At Tilting Point, we’re confident in our UA funding and expertise, best-in-class AI tech, and deep understanding of free-to-play mobile games to ensure success for Zombieland: Double Tapper and to provide a game players everywhere will love.” The game will be coming to the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store later this year at an unknown date, likely right around the time that Zombieland 2 hits theaters. For now, players can pre-register on the game’s official website to be notified of when it is available. Until then, players can stock up on twinkies and Bill Murray movies to keep them occupied during the mobile gaming apocalypse.
