Encanto’s Stephanie Beatriz Cast In Twisted Metal TV Series

The world of streaming television has only gotten increasingly competitive in the past few years, with more combatants entering the fold and striving to fight for subscribers. One way these competitors have sought new audiences has been by appealing to gamers with adaptations of their favorite franchises, from Paramount’s Halo TV series to Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher. One of the newer gaming-related projects in the works has been the live-action adaptation of Twisted Metal for Peacock. Now, it has been confirmed that the Twisted Metal TV series has cast Encanto’s Stephanie Beatriz in a lead role for the series.

Stephanie Beatriz

Deadline has reported on the casting of Stephanie Beatriz in the upcoming Twisted Metal TV series for Peacock. Beatriz is perhaps best known for her work on the American sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and most recently for her voice work as Maribel Madrigal, the protagonist in the Disney animated movie Encanto. Beatriz was cast as a character named Quiet, who is described as the following per the new announcement release:

“A ferocious, badass car thief who acts purely on instinct – you couldn’t stop her any more than a manhole could stop a volcano. Coming from a community that oppressed her into silence, Quiet’s wish is to find her place in this dark, chaotic world.”

Stephanie Beatriz joins Anthony Mackie, who has already been cast as the series’s protagonist John Doe. Mackie’s character in the series will be on a quest to deliver a mysterious package across the apocalyptic wasteland, amidst the wild cast of rival drivers of destructive vehicles, including the iconic ice cream truck-driving clown Sweet Tooth. Beatriz’s Quiet will reportedly form an uneasy alliance with Doe to fulfill a quest for revenge. This will certainly be a fun pairing potentially as destructive as the multiplayer mayhem of the Twisted Metal video games.
