Zelda Remake Studio Hiring For New Medieval-Style Project

Zelda Remake Studio

After years of holding its beloved franchises very close to the chest, Nintendo has opened up more in regards to letting third parties work with their franchises. One such third party that found success with some of Nintendo’s most precious series’ was Grezzo, having the opportunity to work on both The Legend of Zelda and Luigi’s Mansion. Their remakes of classic The Legend of Zelda games like Link’s Awakening and The Ocarina of Time have held true to the original games’ forms while making modern updates and quality-of-life improvements. Now, it seems that the Zelda remake studio will be branching out into a new project with its own original concept.

Japanese Zelda remake studio Grezzo has updated their official website with new job listings related to a new 3D video game project. The studio’s listing for an effect designer and a UI designer mentions the positions will be for a new game that is “medieval” and “stylish.” The listing also describes the game as having a look that is “not photoreal, but a ‘design’ of real elements.” For the position, Grezzo is looking to find a candidate with previous 3D game effect designing experience that knows how to use DCC tools such as Maya and Photoshop.

The listing does not specifically mention that the game will be for the Nintendo Switch, but given the developer’s history of developing Nintendo-exclusive titles and not stressing exact photo realism, a Switch release would seem likely. The Zelda remake studio has proven consistently in the past that they are good at releasing quality content that appeases players with new innovations, and hopefully this new title continues that streak. Something tells me this studio is going to be Legendary. Of Zelda.
