Yakuza Kiwami 2 ESRB Rating Suggests Imminent PC Release
Ever since SEGA revealed a Western PC release in the works for Yakuza Kiwami 2, fans of the over-the-top series have been eagerly awaiting when the remade sequel would eventually hit storefronts. While news on that front has been decidedly uneventful over the last year, the port’s recently surfaced ESRB rating suggests a release may finally be on the horizon.
As seen on the ESRB website, a rating for Yakuza Kiwami 2 has been revealed for its unspecified and likely imminent release for PC. As an rating such as this usually appears just as a game prepares for launch, this may mean the Japanese crime adventure could be on the way relatively soon. Rated M for Mature (of course), the rating itself warns of particularly adult-oriented time, depicting the “sexual themes,” “strong language,” and “intense violence” one might expect from a traditional Yakuza experience. An excerpt of the summary reads:
Players explore parts of Tokyo and Osaka and engage in missions that often result in fistfights with thugs and/or rival gang members. Characters use knives, pipes, and swords during combat and can trigger scripted special attacks (e.g., bashing heads into walls; stabbing enemies with a knife; ripping off nails and teeth with pliers) after successfully building up an attack meter.”
For now, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is only out for PlayStation 4.
