New Xbox Series X | S Accessories Confirmed For Launch

Xbox Series X S Controller Shock Blue

After months of hype and careful reveals, the next-generation of consoles is finally almost upon us. Though Sony has arranged an exciting bevy of launch titles, Xbox has positioned itself as the arguable frontrunner on the hardware side of things with the higher-spec Xbox Series X, the approachably-priced Series S, and extended compatibility with the current and incoming generation of the platform. Building upon this strong suit, Microsoft has revealed a new line of accessories to be made available upon the console’s approaching launch.

In a new Xbox Wire post (H/T Game Informer), Microsoft introduced several accessories intended to further complement the Xbox platform. Included was the reveal of an electrifying new Wireless Controller color called Shock Blue; the variant joining the previously-revealed Robot White and Carbon Black featured in respective shades of the Xbox Series S and Series X. The blue hue is touted as having all the advancements of its controller counterparts – including a “more inclusive” and “ergonomic” design, “performance-boosting updates,” textured grips, as well as increased compatibility with Windows 10 PCs.

Controller users on PC will have two new bundle options available to them at launch: one with that features a standard USB-C cable and another that utilizes a Wireless Controller Adapter. While the wired method is traditionally favored for its minimized battery use and maximized latency, the wireless method looks to somewhat bridge the gap with the benefit of Dynamic Latency Input offered by the controller. In addition, Microsoft is also putting out a new Rechargeable Battery capable of fully charging an Xbox Series controller in under four hours.

As of now, each of these new accessories is available for pre-order on the Microsoft website. The Shock Blue Wireless Controller is available for $60 USD, the Wireless Adapter is going for $80 USD, and the Rechargeable Battery bundle is out at $25 USD. All of these accessories will launch alongside the Xbox Series X and Series S on November 10th.
