Xbox One to Get Subscription Gaming Later This Spring With ‘Xbox Game Pass’
Here’s an interesting tidbit of news for all Xbox fans out there! Have you ever wanted to test out games before buying them? Maybe you’d like to just pay one set price to play multiple games in a subscription service. If that is the case, you’re in luck as another option for just that is coming to the console. Microsoft has announced something similar to Gamefly or Netflix. Its a program they’re calling the Xbox Game Pass, sweet and simple.
The Xbox Game Pass will feature a large selection of games for players, all of which will be able to be downloaded straight to consoles. Due to this, there will be no worry of bandwidth or connectivity issues. They’ll also be able to make purchases of these games and any downloadable content at a discount if they so choose. With such a wide variety of games and developers, it’ll be interesting see what kind of titles players can expect to play:
With great games from top industry publishers such as 2K, 505 Games, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment, Capcom, Codemasters, Deep Silver, Focus Home Interactive, SEGA, SNK CORPORATION, THQ Nordic GmbH, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft Studios, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and you will always find something exciting to play across a variety of genres.
Right now, the program is being tested by select members of the Xbox Insider Program with very limited titles. Later this Spring however, the program will be released to the rest of us. Like Netflix or Hulu, the price is cheap, set at around $9.99/ month. Initially, it seems players will have access to over 100 titles from the 360 console as well as the Xbox One. This will include the likes of Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16 and SoulCalibur II.
