Xbox One October Update Now Live (VIDEO)
With Microsoft trailing Sony’s game console sales this generation, the software and hardware juggernaut has sought to make their Xbox platform as inviting as possible with new features and bonuses for its users. The company has provided many free games for its Xbox Live and Game Pass subscribers, and it has made strides for neglected audiences with an Xbox One controller for gamers with limited mobility. Now, Microsoft has released a new Xbox One October update that includes loads of new features and a major amount of inclusions for the Avatar system.
Microsoft has detailed all of the new additions included with the Xbox One October update on their official Xbox Wire blog. The update is easily the overhauled Avatar system, which utilizes more detailed animation and a far greater amount of customization features for Xbox One players. With the new Avatar system also comes a new Avatar store, where users can purchase new clothes and accessories. There is also a new Photobooth mode that lets users craft a custom photo of their Avatar making various poses for their Gamerpic.
The update also makes the Xbox One compatible with Amazon Alexa and Microsoft Cortana-using devices. Now, players can use voice commands through their Amazon Echo to power on their Xbox One, turn up the volume, take screenshots and several other commands. The update also enables Dolby Vision HDR streaming, and adds more languages to the Xbox One Narrator, including Spanish, Polish, Portuguese among others! Microsoft certainly does not seem content to rest on their laurels with their Xbox One platform, and many users are sure to take advantage of these nifty features. Now, let’s just hope they never bring Clippy the paper clip to Xbox One.
