Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Reportedly Coming Soon
Microsoft plans on bringing the best of both subscriptions worlds together in one package, combining the features of Xbox Live and Xbox Game Pass into a neat little bundle called the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. You know what that means? Gamers won’t have to pay double the price for internet access and access to an enormous library of titles to play at leisure. If the recent report stands true, it’ll run Xbox owners less than $20 per month.
Based on a Twitter post from h0x0d and a report by The Verge, the online subscription redesign will likely launch alongside the previously announced disc-less “All Digital Edition” of the Xbox One S, which is slated for later this month. According to Twitter user h0x0d, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate combines Xbox Live and Game Pass into one. It features a higher monthly price point compared to previous generations at $14.99 (USD).

Given the nature of subscription services as gamers know them, Microsoft will likely offer bundles of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate akin to the 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month ones currently on the market. Typically, these bundles offer a slight discount compared to the pay-by-month option. Alas, we’ll just have to wait and see.
In other Xbox news, rumor has it that the next Xbox console will be more powerful than the Google Stadia. In light of subscription services from gaming consoles on the market, it looks like the United Kingdom just launched a full investigation on dubious consumer fairness practices from Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo.
What do you think about Microsoft combining Xbox Live and the Xbox Game Pass into one package? Is this a smart move, or should they keep the two separated? It certainly keeps gamers from debating on which subscription they should get and brings all the best features of both worlds in one. Not too shabby.
