Xbox Boss Praises Gaming Industry's Power To Connect People During Coronavirus Pandemic

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to force people indoors and into self-quarantine, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has opened up about how important it is that people stay connected during these tumultuous times. Although the landscape of the gaming industry is quickly changing with highly anticipated gaming events being canceled left and right, gamers can still take solace and enjoyment out of the simple act of playing a game and having fun, something Phil Spencer says is heartening to see most especially during these times.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently took to Twitter to open up about how imperative it is that we stay connected despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. “It’s heartening to hear from so many people using gaming as a way to stay connected during these times,” the Tweet reads. “Play is a fundamental human need. Proud to be part of an industry that can offer escape and fun right now. Stay safe.”

Whether it be Xbox or another platform, gaming and staying connected to people in a time like this is all the more important, especially for those that are or will end up being self-quarantined. DFTG hopes that you and yours remain safe and healthy.
