World Of Warcraft Classic’s PVP Content Plans Revealed

World Of Warcraft Classic's PVP Content Plans Revealed

Last year, Blizzard announced that it was pulling its iconic MMORPG back to its roots with World of Warcraft Classic, designed as the answer to players that want to dive straight in and enjoy the game without having to deal with over a decade’s worth of expansions and content updates. Recently, the developer revealed its six-stage plan for PvE content, and now it is PvP’s turn to get the spotlight.

Blizzard revealed over on its official forums that almost every step along its six-stage plan will also see the release of new PvP content for players to sink their teeth into. For those that may not remember, World of Warcraft originally didn’t come with any penalty/reward system for PvP combat, meaning that for a time it was essentially the wild west. Things will be similarly lawless during phase 1, with things getting a bit more involved once phase 2 is reached.

According to Blizzard, phase 2 will see the implementation of Honorable Kills, Dishonorable Kills, and PvP Rank Rewards. Phase 3 will see the introduction of Battlegrounds, namely Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch. Phase 4 will see the Arathi Basin Battleground’s inclusion into World of Warcraft Classic, after which PvP content skips a phase before adding World PvP objectives in both Silithus and Eastern Plaguelands in phase 6.

There’s plenty of content to sort through here, though thankfully for newcomers and veterans alike Blizzard is trickling in new content, so players will have plenty of time to get up to speed before the next content drop.

World of Warcraft Classic launches this summer for PC.
