New Wolfenstein II Video Shows What it Took to Create a Nazi-Ruled America (VIDEO)

Wolfenstein II Video

Ever since the wild acid trip of a trailer was released at this year’s E3, fans have been wanting more and more of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Thankfully, Bethesda has been pretty good about revealing new gameplay and details about the upcoming title on a regular basis. The game’s history runs deep and so does its fanbase, which is why it’s always good to keep them on your side. We’re seven weeks away from The New Colossus debuting, and the most recent Wolfenstein II video gives us a good idea as to what went into creating an America under Nazi regime.

During Bethesda’s recent Live Stage video, associate director of global content Gary Steinman sat down with MachineGames‘ Jerk Gustafsson and Jens Matthies to discuss The New Colossus and its development. The game takes place in America 14 years after the Nazis win WWII. “It’s now 1961, the Reich has overtaken almost the entire world, and now BJ Blazkowicz is returning to his home to rally the resistance and repel the invaders. But this isn’t the America BJ fought for during the war. Not anymore.” Check out the video for yourself below:

Since the video game will be taking place in America, that means players will be experiencing the country as never before. The Wolfenstein II video above focuses on the cities of New Orleans and Roswell. The latter looks just as it might have back in the 60’s, but now there is Nazi propaganda as far as the eye can see. On the other hand, the former has practically been turned into a wasteland. Walls have been put in place and the residents are left to fend for themselves.

The members from MachineGames also mention the significance of using environmental storytelling. Players will notice that the Nazi presence is felt more than in previous titles, and this certainly plays into just how much has come under their rule. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is set to release on October 27 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
