New Wolfenstein 2 Gameplay Video Shows BJ Blazkowicz in a More Vulnerable State (VIDEO)

When Wolfenstein 2 made its grand debut at this year’s BethesdaLand during the E3 festivities, fans were eager to see BJ Blazkowicz back in action following the success of its predecessor. So far in the Wolfenstein narrative, Blazkowicz has been nearly invincible being every bit as badass as one would expect from he-who-slays-Nazis. That is … until now.

Bethesda recently released some gameplay footage for the upcoming Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus and it shows our favourite hero in a completely different light. For those that played Wolfenstein: The Order, you may be wondering what exactly happened during *that scene* and how the leap from The New Order to The New Colossus occurred. The video below showcases Blazkowicz as he slowly awakens from his comatose state and finds that he’s not ready to just leap up and take down the bad guys as per usual. Check out the video below to see his grand awakening (Warning, this is actual gameplay footage, mild spoilers ahead):

That’s one way to wake up. The video above goes to show that even confined in a wheelchair, good ‘ol BJ is still a badass. As he slowly, and painfully, wakes up, the protagonist realises that there’s no rest for the weekend as he is thrust back into the line of fire. Literally. Equipped with his gun and a barely there sense of modesty, the gameplay video follows him as he makes his way to relative safety. Once he meets up with Set Roth, Blazkowicz gets the news of his condition handed to him on a very blunt platter:

You know how long you’ve been in bed? Five months. Your body is broken. Do you understand? Your kidneys are failing. You might have difficulties to urinate, to use your schmeckle, to do many other things.”

Does he care? Hell no … he wants answers and wants them now. The video lays bare the plot of who is hunting him down and why. Without giving too much away, you can check out the full developer video above and see for yourself the stones this character is made of.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus makes its platform debut on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 October 27th, 2017.

What do you think about the latest video to showcase Wolfenstein 2? Do you think BJ will continue to kick ass and take names or will this infamous character go down via kidney failure?
