The Witcher’s Geralt Will Be Featured In Another Game Set To Release This Year

Geralt will be making a cameo in an entirely different game this year, stepping out of The Witcher franchise for the very first time. In fact, sources say it’s a game that’s set for release this year. CD Projekt Red community head, Marcin Momot, alluded to this in his most recent tweet and asked fans what they think. Perhaps it’s also to get a sense of everyone’s expectations and thoughts on this iconic character appearing in an entirely different world. See below:

Momot’s teaser received hundreds of responses, several of them pointing to the potential of Geralt’s appearance in the upcoming Soulcalibur VI by Bandai Namco. Furthermore, DFTG has a source that confirms his debut in the fighting game. Though another plausible guess can be seen in Monster Hunter World, the keywords here are “upcoming games later this year”. With that being said, until official news reveal which one it will be, any guesses in the mean time remain a “rumor”.

Cross promotional appearances and other surprise cameos aren’t unheard of in the video game industry. Given the fact that developer CD Projekt Red currently doesn’t have plans of creating another The Witcher sequel, this is certainly another way of keeping the legacy alive.
