Witcher Documentary Mini-Series Trailer Released – Releases Next Week (VIDEO)
Earlier this year, it was announced that a documentary based mini-series about CD Projekt RED RPG franchise The Witcher would be released. Within this series, fans will get a chance to take a look at the team that created the game and the many aspects involved in creating the beloved franchise. Danny O’Dwyer, who is the man behind the creation of this project, released a trailer for the Witcher Documentary Mini-Series.
This six-part mini-series will provide players with an in-depth look at the creative minds and the great lengths they have gone to create the franchise. It will also review the technology side of creating the wonderful worlds, creatures, and storyline that fans of the title spend many hours enjoying. Danny O’Dwyer shared his own thoughts on the project:
Introducing our six-part mini-series on the history and design of The Witcher franchise. Featuring interviews with over a dozen CD Projekt veterans, we explore the creation of the games from several unique perspectives including level design, quest design, localization, adaptation, living world design and more.
Here is a breakdown of the 6 parts of the Witcher documentary mini-series:
- The Story of CD Projekt — Monday, October 2
- Marcin Iwiński tells the tale of how CD Projekt emerged from socialism
- Remembering The Witcher 1 & 2 — Wednesday, October 4
- The creators and players of W1 and W2 reminisce, while Marcin & Adam continue the story of the company’s rise and near falls
- Creating the World of The Witcher 3 — Friday, October 6
- How level design, environmental design, and living world design combine to create the world of Wild Hunt
- The Quests of Wild Hunt — Monday, October 9
- Detailing the design of W3’s most memorable quests and the many quests that changed during development
- Found in Translation — Wednesday, October 11
- Localisation & adaptation departments detail the incredible work that goes into making The Witcher multi-lingual
- The Devil’s in the Details — Friday, October 13
- How elements like music, cinematic design, combat and more, combine to create a believable universe
This documentary will be viewable via O’Dwyer’s website, Noclip. Fans of the Rocket League, Final Fantasy XIV, and the DOOM series will be happy to know that they can find documentaries on those titles as well by the same film creator. All of the mini-series are 100% crowdfunded and tell the stories behind the games to the detail that most are not familiar with.
