Werewolf: The Apocalypse – A New Game from the World of Vampire: The Masquerade
Focus Home Interactive and White Wolf Publishing have announced a partnership that will allow for Cyanide Studio, the developer behind Styx: Master of Shadows and Blood Bowl, to begin work on their new game, Werewolf: The Apocalypse. The title will be set in the World of Darkness universe (The Vampire: The Masquerade) and as the name suggests, will focus primarily on werewolves this time around.
The press release offered up very little in the way of details, which isn’t surprising given that the project is in the early stages of development. However, Martin Ericsson, the lead story teller of White Wolf, said the following with regard to the game’s setting:
The world is dying. When will you Rage? The core question of Werewolf: The Apocalypse is more relevant today than ever before and the cooperation with Focus and Cyanide will finally give gamers the opportunity to revel in the raw power and primal spirituality of the Garou. What is the price of saving the world with fang and claw? Find out for yourself as we explore the darkest corners of a dying planet.”
“We are pleased to partner with White Wolf to bring Werewolf: The Apocalypse to life in a video game for consoles and PC. We are excited to work on the World of Darkness universe, as this is a formidable playground to tell the players a great story.” said Cédric Lagarrigue, President of Focus Home Interactive. Lagarrigue also went on to say how excited Focus Home Interactive is about working with White Wolf and Cyanide Studio. CEO Tobias Sjögren also conveyed his enthusiasm by mentioning how the World of Darkness universe has “always attracted creatives with a strong passion for telling dark and immersive stories.”
