Warhammer: Vermintide II PS4 And Xbox One Release Confirmed, Plus Beta Details
Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide is a critically acclaimed first person multiplayer title set in the expansive Warhammer fantasy universe and developed by Fatshark. Released in 2015, the game features similar gameplay to Valve’s Left 4 Dead series and follows players as they take on the Skaven hordes, a race of rodent-like creatures who spread death and plague throughout the land. It was recently revealed that the game would be receiving a darker, more bloody sequel under the name Warhammer: Vermintide II and now it has been confirmed to be releasing on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms.
Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on when to expect a release date for the title however there will be a Beta for both the Xbox and PlayStation versions in the Spring. Sign ups for the Beta are live for both: click here for the Xbox One sign up page, or here for the PlayStation 4.
The sequel will see a return of the Skaven, who have formed an alliance with the Warriors of Chaos; a tribe of nearly insane Norsemen who worship Nurgle, the God of Pestilence. Players will continue their fight throughout the Empire gaining new loot, new enemies, new skills, and more. A new heroic deeds system is being introduced, which will give players new mission objectives, dramatically change the enemies faced, and limit weapon use to provide a unexpected but refreshing experience.
In the End Times of the Warhammer world, you will be challenged like never before as you and your team of Heroes face untold enemy hordes in a desperate struggle to save the Empire from devastation. Choose a career for your Hero, climb the talent tree, pick from a vast range of unique weapons and gear, and hack through the ranks of the monstrous invaders.
