Valve Corporation And Apple Team To Create An AR Headset
The future is full of some amazing and wonderful products that could either be a nuisance or a blessing on society, perhaps both. Augmented Reality could be a useful tool in serving civilization with the means of gaining incredibly detailed information in the blink of an eye, helping with traffic, replacing price tags, and much more. Now, it seems that Apple is almost ready to unveil an AR headset with the help of Valve Corporation.
Reports from as far back as 2017 indicated that Apple had been working on an AR headset that could potentially be the successor to the iPhone and even envisioned a 2020 release window. Now a new report has arrived indicating that Apple has joined up with the game developer, publisher, and digital distribution company Valve Corporation.
Apple will cooperate with Valve on AR headsets rather than VR devices as its CEO Tim Cook believes that AR can make digital content become part of the user’s world and will be as popular as smartphones with consumers.”
The report also indicates that this variation of the AR headset will act as an accessory to iPhones, acting as a “head-mounted display device” while the phone handles all the heaving lifting such as the networking, computing, and more. This latest report indicates that the product is expected to release at some point in 2020, though at the moment there’s been no word from either Valve or Apple to confirm the release window.
