Uncharted Movie Cargo Plane Scene Released By Sony (VIDEO)

Hollywood has made it quite clear that a big part of the future of the film and television industries will involve adapting video game franchises for the big and small screens. This year will see the return of both Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario to movie theaters, as well as the debut of Nathan Drake in a film as well. The live-action Uncharted movie has been proving to be a major production, with Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, and Antonio Banderas all slated to appear in the project. Now, Sony Pictures has released a clip of one of the film’s biggest scenes.

Sony Pictures released the Uncharted movie cargo plane scene on their official YouTube channel. The clip shows what is clearly one of the film’s most action-packed sequences, with the scene paying unmistakable homage to a similar plane sequence from Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 3. In the film, young Nathan Drake and Sully, portrayed by Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, are seen on-board a cargo plane owned by Antonio Banderas’s Moncada. His main henchperson Braddock, played by Tati Gabrielle, nearly captures Drake, but not before all the cargo begins leaving the plane in mid-air.

As Sully exits via parachute, Drake is caught on one of the connected nettings and has to climb his way back onto the plane while avoiding gunfire and Moncada’s henchmen. Back on the plane, a young Chloe Frazer, played here by Sophia Ali, tries to stop Braddock and rescue Drake. In the midst of the action, she breaks into an onboard classic car and drives it off the plane, taking Drake with her. The Uncharted movie cargo plane sequence really captures the feel of the Uncharted games and shows how committed the film’s team is to adapting Uncharted to the big screen.
