Uncharted Live-Action Fan Film Stars Nathan Fillion As Nathan Drake (VIDEO)
The moment that many people have been waiting for has come. Ever since talks of an Uncharted film began to circulate, one name has stood out to play the lead role: Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Castle, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog). The mega popular actor recently teased a project related to the video game franchise, and now we know what it is – a live-action fan film starring Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake.
Now that you’ve recovered from excitement at the prospect of such a thing, let’s get down to details. Director Allan Ungar released the short film on YouTube this morning. Running at just under 15 minutes, the Uncharted fan film sees Nathan Drake captured as part of a larger scheme to acquire some rather important letters. Check out the awesome video below:
Honestly, it’s seemingly everything a fan could hope for. Fillion, while only given a short amount of time, absolutely crushes it as Nathan Drake. Cohorts Sully and Elena are also seen in the short film. The only downside is that there isn’t more to watch.
“This is something I’ve wanted to do, but more importantly, something I’ve wanted to see for a long time,” Fillion said in an Instagram post. “If you’ve ever pinned a towel around your neck for a cape, or donned a fedora and nearly put your eye out with a homemade whip, this is for you. It’ll be interesting to see what Sony and Naughty Dog do after seeing this. They could choose to ignore it and let it be; they could throw a cease and desist letter their way; they could even decide to pick it up and get the ball rolling on a full-length feature film. Of course, we don’t know what the future holds, but here’s to hoping this has the same result as that Deadpool test footage.
