Nathan Fillion Teases ‘Uncharted’ Project Involvement, Announcement Coming Soon

Nathan Fillion Uncharted Drake

Actor Nathan Fillion is well-known for his quip-slinging roles in crime series Castle and fan-favorite sci-fi franchise Firefly, but one live-action portrayal that fans have long been clamoring for is the character of Nathan Drake from the Uncharted games. The actor would seem to be well-suited for the role, with Fillion possessing skill in portraying charmingly rakish characters and even sharing a passable resemblance to Drake. To the delight of fans, Fillion has now teased his involvement in a new Uncharted project, with an announcement set for next week.

Taking to Instagram, as the actor tends to do, Fillion makes several not-so-subtle hints regarding a certain Naughty Dog franchise. His recent post highlights the Latin phrase “Sic Parvis Magna,” an integral quote in the Uncharted series meaning “greatness from small beginnings.” Nathan Drake figuratively and literally carried the motto with him as an engraved ring worn around his neck. Referencing the protagonist even further, Fillion’s post featured an image of another famous Drake in the form of the Fortnite-loving musician.

While most of his post is devoid of any kind of confirmation, Fillion also left us the date of July 16th, 2018, teasing a full explanation for this Drake madness at that time. A starring role in the upcoming Uncharted movie would be a dream for many, but that could unfortunately mean the demise of the rumored prequel starring Spider-Man actor Tom Holland.

There’s always the possibility of both actors stepping into Drake’s shoes as younger and older versions of the character, but it’s probably best to keep expectations under control as neither have been officially confirmed for the role. Of course, that could all change next week.

What do you think? Are you excited Nathan Fillion might be teasing his presence in the Uncharted movie, or do you feel like the games are better off not getting a big screen adaptation?
