Two New Nintendo Switch Model Announcements Reportedly Coming Soon
As the Nintendo Switch begins its third year, Big N is surely working on ideas to keep the portable console going until the next big thing. Of course, that shouldn’t be too difficult, as the Switch has been an absolute success since launch. That said, it looks like we might be seeing two new versions of hybrid hardware in the relatively near future.
According to Wall Street Journal’s Takashi Mochizuki, there will be a high-end Nintendo Switch as well as a lower-end version, which is to be sold at a lesser price. It’s reported that the low-end Switch will not include the Rumble function.

The article linked in the tweet above also provided comments from a source who had laid eyes on these two Nintendo Switch consoles. “The cheaper model’s shape is very surprising, and you’d be wrong to think it looks like a portable console like the PlayStation Vita,” they said. In addition to this, and to further add credibility to all of this, Mochizuki noted in the tweet that this is what he “was doing during GDC in San Francisco.”
Of course, it is always best to keep the salt handy in situations such as this, but the information is seemingly credible. If that is the case, we could very well be seeing this consoles revealed at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo in June, which would surely be a surprise to many fans.
Until Big N officially announces the new Nintendo Switch models, however, we’ll just have to keep on wondering exactly what they’ll be like. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
