Two Legend of Zelda Nintendo Switch Titles Reportedly Coming This Year

Zelda Switch Games

Easily the biggest surprise to come out of the well-received Nintendo Direct that arrived a few weeks ago was the announcement of a remake of the classic Game Boy title, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Nintendo had blown audiences away with Breath of the Wild at the Switch’s launch, but many were just as enthused at a smaller Zelda game that pays great tribute to a beloved entry in the series.

However, others have been wondering what other leaps forward Link will take, and now, a rumor has arisen claiming that two new Legend of Zelda Switch Games will release later this year in addition to Link’s Awakening.

According to a post by Gamespot forum user Vergeben, who has been known in the past to have both correctly and incorrectly leak and predict various Nintendo announcements, there will be two new Legend of Zelda games will be coming to Switch this year that have not yet been revealed. Of the two Zelda games, Vergeben claims that one will be a completely new 2D-based title, and the other will be another remake that will be a digital release and much smaller in production and scale than the upcoming Link’s Awakening remake.

Vergeben does not make any other specific claims about release dates other than them falling in 2019, but it is stated that these games would be announced some time this spring. However, Vergeben has made incorrect predictions in the past, so a fair amount of skepticism to these rumors is warranted. Still, for those wanting multiple upcoming dips back into the Zelda fairy fountains, these hardly sound like they would be unwanted additions.
