After Losing Two Directors, Flash Movie Will Now Be Entirely Rewritten
It was reported that DC’s The Flash film will be entirely rewritten after losing two different Directors in the space of a few months. Warner is having Joby Harold, who also wrote the script for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, create the new script while they look for a replacement Director. The first two Directors were Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa, who both left over “creative differences” with Warner. The original script was written by Grahame-Smith and now that it will be rewritten, it is unlikely to make its release date that is scheduled for May 2018.
The Flash himself, Ezra Miller, said in a recent interview that losing two directors in such a short period of time may seem more dramatic and foreboding from the outside, but he describes the changing of team members as more of a relay race. He says the reason it has drawn so much attention is due to the fact that the Director is such an imperative role in the film.
“These processes are complicated, and I think it can—from afar—appear to be, as you say, something interpersonal or dramatic… that is rarely the case. These are groups of people taking the development of projects extremely seriously, and the teams are changing all the time. There’s often a lot of flux in who the team of the production of a film is before that production starts, and in this case, you hear about it, because it’s a critical figure—the directors that have been coming on and leaving. For me, it’s sort of a tragic relay race, and we’ve had a couple really incredible people carry this baton, and their marks are left on that baton, and the work that they’ve given to the project will certainly be represented in whatever the final product comes to be.”
Miller aka the Flash will be appearing in the Justice League movie in November. Are you guys worried about the film? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below and check out these other sweet articles from the DC universe!
