Trials Rising Trailer Crashes Into E3 2018 (VIDEO)

Ubisoft revealed the first trailer for Trials Rising, its upcoming motocross game, at E3. Ubisoft and RedLynx promise a more seamless multiplayer experience, which they punctuated by announcing “You never ride alone.”

The introduction started off in atypical fashion. Game director Antti Ilvessuo rode into the theater atop a motorcycle wearing an Evel Knievel-style jumpsuit. He seemed full of swagger and confidence, like he was ready to take on the world.

Then he crashed into and through the podium.

It was a ludicrous sight to behold, which is absolutely fitting for Trials Rising. He went on to say that “Trials is all about crashing with style and getting back up again.” It felt forced, but his absurd display still suits the franchise’s motif.

The trailer provides players an idea of the pain inflicted upon their character. Heads smack into walls, bikes fall into pits of burning gas, and two mallets turn bike and rider into pancakes. In short, expect quite a few deaths when you boot this one up.

The game promises to provide racers with more tracks than any previous Trials game. The trailer showed off several locales, including Cairo, New York City, and Hollywood. In the final image of the trailer, posters behind the rider include Seoul, Paris, Thousand Cloud Village, Yellowstone, and Thailand. The variety of locations depicted should provide players hope for a higher level of replayability.

The last Trials title, Trials Fusion, was released back in 2014 and received strong reviews. Trials Rising will be the sixth title in the series, dating back to the 1999 original browser game. That ignores nine expansions, spin-offs, and remakes, which makes this one of the most successful motorcycle games ever. The past three titles each received critical and fan acclaim, and the trailer indicates that an even better title awaits riders.

Ubisoft and RedLynx will release Trials Rising in February 2019, and you can register for the closed beta now.
