F2P Titanfall Battle Royale Title “Apex Legends” Reportedly Arriving Very Soon

Titanfall

Battle royale modes have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and effectivenesss in generating longevity in titles. Both in games arriving soon and those that have been out for quite some time are jumping on the bandwagon, each bringing their own unique flavor to the addictive gameplay. It appears as though the Titanfall franchise may become the latest to join the legion of battle royale with a game in the same universe called Apex Legends.

Esports consultant and insider Rod Breslau recently took to social media stating that multiple unknown sources have confirmed the existence of a new title from Respawn Entertainment.  Sadly, the sources indicate that even though the title will be set in the Titanfall universe, the game itself won’t feature any Titans. Breslau goes on to explain that Apex Legends, as the title will allegedly be called, is set to feature multiple classes / heroes each with their own unique abilities:

The recent Tweet also indicates that servers will hold a maximum of 60 players as well as teams of up to 3 players that can compliment each other and will utilize the Valve Source engine, similar to Titanfall and Titanfall 2. Lastly, Breslau mentions that the game will be free-to-play and will feature micro-transactions and lootboxes that contain cosmetic items and in-game content.

It was recently predicted by analysts that EA would be launching both Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order as well as Titanfall 3 sometime in 2019. Game blogger Nibel also released a Tweet lining up with the the recent claim sharing information indicating that EA filed for trademarks of Project Apex and Apex Legends in October, little over a 2 months before Respawn began hiring for a new Titanfall project. Nibel also shares that EA did confirm around the same time frame that Respawn would have multiple games arriving sometime this year.

While there’s been no confirmation on whether this information is legitimate or not, all signs seem to point towards a release on February 4th for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. When we asked our own sources, they seemed to also confirm that a Monday announcement would be imminent.
