The Witcher Gets A Friends-Style Sitcom Intro And It’s Absolute Perfection (VIDEO)
The phenomenon that is Netflix’s The Witcher continues to delight fans of both the original book series by Andrzej Sapkowski and the hit video game series by CD Projekt RED. While the first season of the show may be firmly behind the majority of us at this point, fans still have plenty to look forward to as showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich and company continue their pre-production work on Season two. In the meantime, we’ve a treasure trove of hilarious fan-made video clips to enjoy, such as this delightful mashup between the battle at Blaviken and Britney Spears’ song ‘Toxic.’ Now, if that wasn’t enough, another fan of The Witcher has created a full-blown intro to the series in the style of the hit classic TV show Friends.
A YouTuber by the name of DarwinStreams recently uploaded a video showing numerous scenes from Netflix’s The Witcher series strung together to the background of the Friends theme song, I’ll Be There for You. It honestly works perfectly, from the beginning where Jaskier seemingly sings along with the song to the touching ending bit where he’s hanging out with his buddy Geralt of Rivia. Check it out for yourself below:
The comedic beats are all here, from Geralt stabbing folks to the *clap clap clap clap* part of the song all the way to him sucker punching Jaskier for being, well, a spoony bard. Each main character including Roach (sorry Triss!) gets a bit of time in the spotlight, and watching this over and over is the perfect way to help psych you up for season two of The Witcher. Here’s hoping it won’t take too long to get here!
The first season of Netflix’s The Witcher is now available on the streaming platform.
